What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. While laser services have their place, many skin and hair types are less suited to laser treatment, and even those for whom laser is most effective often see the hair return after time. Electrolysis on the other hand can permanently deactivate the follicles by affecting the germ cells therein through the use of gentle electric current. A probe about the same size as the width of the hair is inserted almost imperceptibly alongside the hair, mild current is applied, and those cells are treated through the chemical and/or thermal action of the current. See the FAQ for more details!

Alexis Baker, L.E.

I began my personal journey with electrolysis over a decade ago by seeing an electrologist here in Missoula. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my treatments with her before she moved away, and I was forced to travel several hours away for services. Between the extra travel costs, the pandemic, and a few lessons on how -not- to treat clients, I had absorbed stories from many different electrologists, and their stories resonated with me: I was not alone in my struggle with unwanted hair growth. I knew there were others in my community who could use these services, and just how life-changing it could be to experience freedom from unwanted hair. My experiences with different modalities and mindsets helped me select the Monterey Bay Institute of Electrology, where I graduated from the full 600-hour program and became licensed in both CA and MT. Iā€™m happy to now welcome those committed to a hair-free lifestyle through my doors so we can work together to help you down a clear path to your true self!
